Evaluation
of Gas Production Assets
PWI
prepared a valuation analysis of coal seam gas production assets
for a financial firm. We provided the client with an overview of
the viability of investment in purchasing these assets.
Valuation
Analysis of Refinery Process Units
We evaluated the viability of an investment in refinery process
units for a financial investment firm. Our efforts included a
detailed on site review of the process units, maintenance history
of the units and the long-term economic viability of the refinery
itself. As a follow up, we also provided consulting support for
the client's negotiations regarding the end of lease value of
the process units.
Analysis
of Natural Gas Pricing Relationships
A major investment banking firm retained us to provide an overview
analysis of the various factors that currently influence relationships
between natural gas, crude oil, distillate fuel oil, and residual
fuel oil. We presented the results of this analysis to senior
members of the firm's energy lending team.
Economic
Evaluation of Refinery Offgas Recovery Project
PWI provided consulting support for the client team involved in
the client's equity investment in a grass roots project designed
to recover LPG and light olefins from a refinery off gas stream.
Our efforts included preparation of base case and scenario price
forecasts for all product streams. We also reviewed all contracts
between the recovery unit and the refinery and provided our expert
assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of the contractual
arrangements. Our efforts culminated in a presentation to the
project's banking syndicate.
LPG
Storage & Terminal Facilities
This study focused on supply/demand trends for propane and butanes
in southern California in support of a financial analysis of the
future economic viability of storage and terminaling facilities
for propane and butanes. The study also provided the client with
pro forma economics for the facility. PWI also conducted a detailed
physical inspection the facilities and prepared estimates for
replacement costs and estimated remaining life of the facilities.
